Mike Judge, creator of ‘Kind of the Hill’ hinted at a reboot of the beloved animated comedy during the ongoing San Diego Comic Con.

Could Hank Hill and his beloved propane and propane accessories be making a comeback? Mike Judge, creator of the “dang ol” beloved sitcom “King of the Hill,” recently hinted at a possible reboot of the series 25 years after Fox first launched the animated comedy.

During a “Beavis and Butt-Head” panel Thursday at the ongoing San Diego Comic Con, Judge was asked by a fan about the potential return of Hank and the gang, and responded “‘King of the Hill’ has a very good chance of coming back,” to which he received a roaring applause from the audience.

Judge and fellow creator Greg Daniels first teased the legendary cartoon’s revival earlier this year when they reunited to create their own animation company, Bandera Entertainment. At the time, the duo told The Hollywood Reporter they were not ready to share officials details but said they had several projects in development, including a “King of the Hill” revival.

In a subsequent interview with Collider in January, Daniels explained that there is not an official deal for the reboot in place yet, but said the series could take off 15 years after where the characters left off in the finale.

“Currently the idea is a time-jump, so the characters are a bit older,” Daniels told Collider. “We haven’t worked out the contracts yet. We had the idea floating around that we pitched a while ago, and I think we need to figure out how we would do it well and who would do it with use because we’re both pretty busy.”

“King of the Hill,” which debuted on Fox in 1997, is centered around the various antics of propane salesman Hank Hill and his family and friends in the fictional suburban town of Arlen, Texas. The series ran on the network for 13 seasons, concluding its final episodes in 2010. It was nominated for seven Emmy awards, of which it won two.
